The brand name “JABLONEX” is directly related to the city of JABLONEC NAD NISOU. The region in which it is located is rich in components for the production of jewelry. They have been extracted in the north-eastern Czech Republic (Jizera Mountains) since the 14th century. This is evidenced by the discoveries from Sklenařice near Vysoký nad Jizerou. In the 16th century, several glassworks operated in the Izera Mountains. Sand with a high content of pure quartz used for its production was mined here. Thanks to this, the glass industry developed very quickly. Further development caused the need to educate new personnel in specialized professions such as grinder, engraver, jeweler, artist-painter, i.e. people dealing with the refinement and decoration of products from glassworks. This is how the town of Jablonec nad Nisou developed.
