Sunflower seeds, peeled 100% – 1000g
There are about 60 known species of sunflowers. They originate from Mexico, but were bred in Russia. Today, this tall herb with distinctive flowers is also grown in our country. A mature sunflower has a large circular pattern in the middle of the flower, lined with seeds.
Sunflower is a very susceptible crop throughout the vegetation period and only precise mastery of the entire agricultural technology from sowing to harvest can ensure a quality harvest. Desiccation is, except in exceptionally warm years, a necessary preparatory phase for a successful harvest of sunflowers. The main problem is usually the long ripening period and the transfer of diseases from the crop to the seeds. Shortening the ripening period allows to limit harvest losses caused by wild birds.
Sunflowers were first cultivated by American Indians 3,000 years ago. However, this plant earned its name in honor of the Greek Sun God Helios. In the 15th century, Aztec priestesses of the Sun were even crowned with sunflowers. So there must be something to it that the sunflower is a much smaller model of the Sun.
Oilseeds are used to produce oils. They are a good source of protein, minerals and quality fats. Seeds should be included in our diet every day
