Currants are small, dark, seedless raisins that are sun-dried. These top-quality currants are not surface-treated with vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Like all organic raisins, organic currants are unsulphured. Traditionally grown in Greece, they are very sweet and slightly acidic.
Use: They are traditionally used in baked goods – sweet rolls, Christmas stollen, etc. Due to their small size, they swell up completely in soft doughs and are very pleasant to the bite. However, they are also wonderful for snacking, in muesli and table mixes.
